Blanket Progress

Thought I'd show you a little update on my big blanket I am currently crocheting. I think I have about 20 more squares left to do then comes the fun part of crocheting it all together.

I'm using a mixture of acrylic and wool yarns and it's got a lovely soft feel to it. I'm actually doing it in colours that match my living room curtains. It's going to be a big snuggle on the couch with the tv on low type of blanket.

I'm so glad I decided to do the borders all in cream, really pulls the whole thing together I think.

Shop Update + More!

Hello! Small shop update today. I just added these lovely polaroid brooches. One day I would love to own a polaroid (or maybe one of those Fuji instax mini cameras I've seen on people's blogs lately!).

I also received the Moo cards I ordered the other day. They came out great! I ordered them all the same and if you order from the store, you'll get one of these lovelies in your package! Can't recommend them enough!

AND! I am working on a new granny square blanket! I recently got some new curtains so the colour theme matches them. I'm very excited about it! Will keep you all updated on it's progress.

New Scarf

Hi all! So many projects and ideas swimming around in my head at the moment. It's very refreshing to have so much inspiration and creativity going on. My craft area (ie the floor) is a flurry of unfinished brooches, cut out fabric, yarn and felt. I'd show you but I want to keep some things secret for now.

Until then, I thought I'd show you the scarf I crocheted yesterday. I found the pattern in "Not Your Mama's Crochet" which I got from the library the other day. Very quick and easy pattern. Think I might make some more!

It all started when I found some gorgeous yarn in a shop at the weekend and knew it would be perfect for a lovely winter scarf, and I was right. It's super soft, and if you want to know the stats on it: Patons Symphony Super Chunky (Shade: 00008, Dye Lot: 2194). I very much recommend it! Here's some pictures:

Latest crafty going's on!

Well I've been busy sewing and crocheting away. I've been debating what to do, and where to sell my goodies as I think I've got quite a bit of stock together now. I've also been weighing up some big changes in my life. But I won't bore you with that. Take a look at some of the things I've been making (this isn't everything, just a very small selection). I'm hoping to get these up for sale soon.

You may remember the mushroom magnets? Well now I have them in 5 different colour sets! I've had the pieces cut out for ages now and I've only just gotten around to stitching them up!

Also magnets. These were fun to make. Each set is different and I used about 8 different colours of felt for the hearts.

Crochet hair bows! There is a clip attached at the back. These are super cute and I have 8 different colours so far!

Cupcakes

I'm starting to plan some Christmas gifts (perhaps a little early, but I'm very rubbish when it comes to making things and do everything last minute, and often miss the deadline!).I'm thinking of making one of those bags I just made for my Nan, and then some crocheted cupcakes for my Pap. We have some around the house (bought one's), and he always seems impressed with them.

So I spent a good portion of the afternoon looking for a good pattern. I settled on this one: http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2007/08/14/bake-me-a-cake/ and set to work. After several frustrating tries, I finally got it done. Though I'm not sure I like it, lol. Think I will need to work up several patterns and see which one works the best. I do love the yarn I used for the frosting though, it's Patons DK smoothie and it really is smooth. Shame my LYS doesn't do more of it!

Blanket Ta-Dah!

Well here is my very first crocheted blanket! I'm really proud of it. It's definitely going to be the first of many I think.

I didn't make it that big, I'm mostly using it for decoration on the back of my chair but it's also a good afternoon summer nap blanket too.

Close up. I did the edging using shell stitches.

I love the colours. It took about 2 weeks to do, so not bad at all!

I'm back!

Wow, I've been absent from the blogging world for quite some time! Not much has been happening felt wise at the moment, but I have learnt how to crochet which has been a lot of fun.

I recently made a bag (just finished it last night!) which I made using this pattern: http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/crochet-bag.html from Attic24. It came out great and only took a week to stitch up.

I'm also working on a pink/blue granny blanket. I still need to do a few more rows on that and do the edging but it's coming along quite nicely.
I am still collecting my Petite Blythe's. I really need to update my list on the side because I have quite a few now. And I've also been working hard on my doll's house. Pictures of that can be found at my flickr, the link is on the side. Be back soon!
